A BID to build a new home on the site of a demolished house — a decade after it was abandoned — has been given the go-ahead on appeal, despite failing to meet planning guidelines.
The local authority argued that the length of time between the old house being abandoned in and the new plans was too long to make it a lawful replacement. However, in his appeal, Mr McMillan pointed to a range of personal and legal circumstances, including issues with an agricultural tenant, for delaying the planning application.
